We are one of the UK’s leading Faculties of Engineering, committed to maintaining our position at the forefront of our field. Our internationally recognised success affords us the opportunity to take an innovative approach to academic recruitment and we are delighted to invite applications for 5 unique Prize Lectureship positions. These academic posts are open to outstanding individuals
in any area of Engineering, Materials or Computer Science for appointment at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Readership level.
The key criterion for selection is the personal capacity to make an outstanding contribution to the Faculty, and the University, as a research-led academic. Applications from those who will bring new fields of research activity to the Faculty, from both private and public sectors are welcome. We are committed to diversifying our research base, whilst maintaining our high standards, and these posts have been introduced as part of our strategic action to achieve this.
Appointments will be made at Faculty level and each appointee will be affiliated with the most appropriate Department.
Establishing your research quickly will be a priority. To support you in achieving this, each Prize Lectureship appointee will receive the following range of exceptional benefits:
• an open-ended lectureship appointment within one of our seven departments.
• an allocation of funded PhD places to support your research.
• a research start-up grant of £40K to £100K.
• reduced teaching and administrative duties for the first 3 years.
• access to a mentoring scheme tailored to suit your individual needs.
