AVIATION TECHNICAL STUDIES
SCHOOL OF TRANSPORTATION
BCIT’s Aerospace program anticipates requiring temporary, full-time Instructors in the Fall term to teach all levels of the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council (CAMC)/Transport Canada approved curriculum for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘E’ Program and the Electrical component of the AME M program.
Qualifications:
* Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer ‘E’ licence with previous Airworthiness Certification Authority (ACA) granted by an airline or aircraft operator
* Minimum five years of recent industry experience in the certification of aircraft for both line and heavy maintenance operations
* Graduate of an approved aircraft program from a Transport Canada approved school
* Comprehension of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and how they pertain to the personnel licensing system (aircraft maintenance) in Canada
* An excellent command of the English language
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
* Completion of an instructional techniques course would be an asset
* Preference will be given to Engineers who have worked in an avionics environment with bench, shop and line maintenance experience, as well as extensive experience with EFIS, EICAS and Pitot-Static systems
* Ability to instruct the “E” course curriculum at any level and the Electrical segment of the aircraft maintenance category M program
* Must be a team player and contribute to a continuous product improvement environment.
* Completion of the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program would be an asset
Term of Appointment: Mid-September 2010 with various end dates
Salary Range: $57,496 to $85,406 per annum (Placement based on education and experience)
