NSTRUCTOR (CATEGORY M)
AVIATION TECHNICAL STUDIES
SCHOOL OF TRANSPORTATION
BCIT’s Aerospace programs anticipates requiring temporary, full-time Instructors in the Fall term to teach all aspects of the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council (CAMC)/Transport Canada approved curriculum for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘M’ program.
Qualifications:
* Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer ‘M’ licence with previous Airworthiness Certification Authority (ACA) granted by an airline or aircraft operator
* Minimum of five years recent industry experience in the certification of aircraft for both line and heavy maintenance operations, preference will be given to applicants with 10 years experience
* Graduate of an approved aircraft program from a Transport Canada approved school
* Comprehension of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS) and how they pertain to the personnel licensing system (aircraft maintenance) in Canada
* Preference will be given to applicants with recent helicopter experience and who possess a valid M1 and M2 rating
* An excellent command of the English language is desirable
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
* Completion of an instructional techniques course would be an asset
* Ability to instruct all aspects of CAMC/Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘M’ curriculum
* Must be a team player and contributed to a continuous product improvement environment
* Completion of the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program would be an asset
Term of Appointments: Mid-September 2010 with various end dates
Salary Range: $57,496 to $85,406 per annum (Placement based on education and experience)
