
CEHPEA is seeking a Program Manager to join its innovative team of professional educators and health care practitioners to lead the development and implementation of a new assessment program for internationally educated nurses (IENs).

CEHPEA is part of the province’s HealthForceOntario strategy to address the shortage of health human resources, including expanding and enhancing services provided to internationally educated health professionals. Located in downtown Toronto, CEHPEA is the only organization in Ontario that provides assessment, evaluation and training programs for internationally educated health professionals. Responsibilities:
The incumbent is a strong project manager responsible for developing a pilot study for the IEN Program and implementing the IEN Assessment Program at CEHPEA. S/he will oversee all aspects of the program including:
- Developing and executing the project plan for the IEN assessment pilot study
- Implementing work flow processes and communications protocols for the pilot study
- Providing leadership to the IEN Advisory Committee and other stakeholders involved in the program
- Supervising program staff
- Overseeing the planning, coordination and logistics for workshops, training and assessments
- Reporting on results of the pilot study and integrating improvements into future assessments
- Monitoring best practice developments in other jurisdictions
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- University degree in nursing or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. BScN degree preferred.
- 3-5 years demonstrated project and people management experience with ability to execute and deliver results in fast paced environment.
- Knowledge of assessment and examination processes for internationally educated professionals; familiarity with OSCEs an asset
- Familiar with stakeholders and their roles (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Faculties of Nursing, HealthForceOntario)
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), tact and good judgment
- Exceptional planning, organizational and problem-solving
- Commitment to team play and strong relationship-management abilities
